Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother (Baba), aunt, kuma and friend, Oliera passed away on Thursday morning, May 30, 2024 surrounded by her family. Survived by the love of her life Dobrivoje (Bob) and her children Dr. Boro (Ljiljana-her favorite daughter in-law),聽Dr. Kosta and Dr. Zlata, and what she called her greatest accomplishments, her grandchildren Luka and Sofija. Her Brother Tiho (Jessica), her sister Angelina (predeceased), parents (predeceased) Kosta (Petkovic/Velkovski) and Desanka (Mickovic). Kumovi, Stojanka and Aco (predeceased), Milija, Svetlana and Bob. She will be sadly missed by her brothers-in law Dr. Nenad Janicijevic (Dr. Milena) and Predrag, as well as her many nieces, nephews and cousins. Olivera鈥檚 strong will and kindness touched many of the lives she encountered including her workers and tenants over the years. She loved you all. Olivera was a sharp business lady, known to be firm but fair. Thoughtful, generous, artistic and free spirited, she lived life like the Queen she was. She had many great talents, creating magnificent pieces of stained glass art, wood carvings, painting, mosaics, basket weaving, knitting, gardening and, especially, her renowned pastries and mouth-watering meals. She was a master chef, she loved to feed everyone around her, it was her way of showing love. Olivera and Dobrivoje, together for over 50 years, created a business from the ground up, raised and guided three children and two grandchildren, built their dream cottage on Manitoulin Island that boasts both their creativity, passion for native culture, love of animals, flowers and gardening. Viewing was at Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from 5 to 8 pm with Serbian Orthodox prayers starting at 7 pm. A church service was held at St. Peter and Paul鈥檚 Orthodox Church at 515 Antwerp Street, Sudbury at 10 am on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 interment followed at Civic Cemetery on Second Avenue, Sudbury.
